Matt Riddle To Face Jacob Fatu At MLW Kings Of Colosseum

A number of released WWE talent have become available upon the expiration of their no compete clause. One of those names, former WWE United States and Tag Team Champion Matt Riddle has wasted no time on the sidelines as he will begin the new year in an MLW ring, securing a spot on the Kings Of Colosseum card on January 6th against Major League Wrestling mainstay Jacob Fatu.

MLW CEO Court Bauer appeared on Busted Open Radio to break the news, as did the official Major League Wrestling X account:

Matt Riddle is joining MLW. He will debut with us January 6 in Philadelphia, live on Triller TV Plus, at Kings of Colosseum. And his opponent, [their] first time ever meeting, dream match, Jacob Fatu.

Bauer had the following to say regarding Riddle’s commitments to the promotion:

The 37 year old Riddle worked for the promotion prior to signing with the WWE, making his debut in 2017 against fellow mixed martial artist Tom Lawlor. Riddle also competed in the MLW World Heavyweight Championship tournament in 2018 to crown the first champion in 14 years. He was defeated in the finals by Shane Strickland, now known as Swerve Strickland in AEW.
