Sumie Sakai Heads To Australia

Japanese women’s wrestling veteran Sumie Sakai will make her Australia debut competing at New Horizons Pro Wrestling’s Cold Front event in Perth on May 27th. The former ROH Women’s World Champion is set to compete against one of Australia’s most dominant women and’s No.1 2022 female wrestler, DELTA.

Sakai made her pro wrestling debut in in 1997 and made her way to the United States in 2002. Sakai would go on to have notable feuds with the likes of Mercedes Martinez (PWDU #23 (2022), Simply Luscious, Allison Danger, April Hunter and Alexis Laree (Mickie James).

In 2018 Sumie Sakai became the very first Ring Of Honor Women’s World Champion defeating Kelly Klein in the final of the tournament at Supercard of Honor XII.

Other in-ring accomplishments include All Japan Pro Wrestling Women’s Tag Team Champion, PCW Ultra Women’s Champion, Pro Wrestling World-1 Women’s Champion, Women Of Honor Wrestler Of The Year.
