Aussie Open Win The IWGP World Tag Team Championships

As more and more Australian talent have found success overseas, one fan favourite tag team have captured gold in the form of the IWGP World Tag Team Championships in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Aussie Open, consisting of Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher, defeated the team known as Bishamon, featuring Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI, on April 8th at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Sakura Genesis 2023 event.

The outfit of Davis and Fletcher have captivated wrestling fans across the world since their formation, winning tag gold from PROGRESS Wrestling in England to PWA Black Label in their native Australia. They’re also former holders of the NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships.

Davis and Fletcher have competed in prominent independent promotions across the world, including PROGRESS Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Australia, Ring Of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerilla. They’ve also appeared on television for All Elite Wrestling, and online across the world for Impact Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling.
