Rest In Peace Lanny Poffo

PW Downunder are saddened to hear of the passing of former WWE star “The Genius” Lanny Poffo. Lanny was the real-life brother of “Macho Man” Randy Savage who passed away in a car accident in 2011 at 58, Lanny passed away on 2nd of February 2023, he was 68 years of age.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer revealed the cause of death to be heart failure.

PW Downunder was in contact with Lanny Poffo over several weeks in January. Lanny recorded a video for us announcing our Top 10 Australian Tag Teams of 2022, Lanny would later reveal he recorded the video to honour Australian Al Costello. Appearing on radio or podcasts Lanny always gave his time for Australian wrestling fans over the years.

We send out deepest condolences to Lanny Poffo’s friends and family.
