Current PWA champion Charli Evans was scheduled to appear for WA’s Dude Where’s My Ring promotion this Friday July 4th at Brewery Brawl in Maylands, Western Australia. In a video posted on facebook CHEVS revealed she has sustained an injury and will be unable to compete.
Evans said…
“I hate to be the bearer of bad news but unfortunately I have sustained an injury and I am unable to compete at Dude Where’s My Ring on July 4th. I am so incredibly sorry, I was really looking forward to finally coming back to Perth and making it CHEV’s country, but I promise you the second I’m medically cleared, we’re going to find a date and I will be there.”
Evans went on in the video to reveal South Australia’s Axe Massacre will be her replacement on July 4th. Axe has been on the rise in recent months not only gaining attention in her home state of South Australia but holding titles in United Pro Wrestling in Queensland while recently defeating Jasmin Brettle for the All-Star Wrestling Women’s title in New South Wales.
Axe will take on WA veteran and former EPW Pride champion Felix Young.
Other matches set to take place on July 4th include former PWDU columnist Aaron O’Malley taking on Faizal Ali, one of WA’s top tag teams DNT will face Papa Jerms and Buster Rust. In what DWMR are describing as a “BARN BURNER” James Hartness takes on Solomun Blackwell, Jay Taylor will go up against The Great George.
Dude Where’s My Ring is not your conventional professional wrestling show, billed as an 18+ show and all wrestling contests are held on the venue floor with no wrestling ring involved. Expect violence and weapons.
Eventbrite.com have DWMR listed as… “The very best NO RING WRESTLING the country has to offer!” Tickets are selling fast, grab yours here.
One of the owners of DWMR, Michelle K Hasluck posted on facebook… “This sucks BUT injuries happen. Love ya Chevs ♡, at least the replacement is gonna be sweet.”
