WWE Weekly Roundup – KOTR & QOTR Finals set; Dr of Punkanomics; Kaiser sighting

Hello friends and welcome to another edition of the WWE Weekly Roundup where we take a look at the happenings from the WWE’s Flagship shows of Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown. Once again, it’s RAZ at the helm to bring you up to date with all the shenanigans from the WWE Universe.
Cody makes his way to the finals of KOTR
The main event of RAW this week saw two good friends in Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes face off for the opportunity to secure their spot in the final match of the King of the Ring tournament which was to take place at Night of Champions from Riyad, Saudi Arabia.
After a hard-fought battle which would see Uso use Cody’s own finisher against him, Cody would walk out the victor and secure his chance against the Legend Killer, Randy Orton to determine who will be the 2025 King of the Ring.
Penta snaps and a wild Kaiser sighting
Weeks and weeks of Gable tormenting the luchador and this week in a backstage segment Penta finally snapped and started laying into Gable. However, this would be a mere snippet with an appearance of Ludwig Kaiser in the background.
Does Jade have a crown in her future?
The Queen of the Ring tournament may only be a fairly new concept compared to the men’s version. This year however we have seen a similar showcase as the standards men’s tournament and in the semifinals on Raw, Jade Cargill would make her way through Roxanne Perez to become one step closer to the crown.
Dr of Punkanomics makes his debut on Smackdown
It’s 2025 and CM Punk is a babyface while the WWE Champion, John Cena is a heel. Yes, it does feel weird to say that, but after the end of last week’s Smackdown where Cena would put Punk through a table and deliver his own version of a pipebomb, how else would we expect the Second City Saint to respond?
Punk Life made his debut in Saudi Arabia on Smackdown and delivered bars in old school Cena style to clap back at Cena for the pipebomb moment. Was Punk the best rapper? Far from it, but it was funny to watch.
Saudi Arabia causes International Incident
The first 30 minutes of Smackdown this week in Saudi Arabia were taken off the air when the power in the stadium cut the international feed to Netflix leaving most fans to miss the interaction between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes.
WWE would air an edited version in the USA which included social media footage of the interaction between the two men ahead of their match at Night of Champions.
Guila becomes the US Champion
So, my thoughts on this are a little skewed, especially when you have a PLE titled NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS and the only title being defended on the damn show is the WWE Championship. But I digress.
Those who have followed Guila since her Stardom days already knew that if she made it to WWE, she would be destined to be a champion and after solidifying herself in NXT and then making her way to the Smackdown Roster, you knew she would be gunning for some gold to wrap around her waist and this week she secured that gold in the form of the Women’s US Championship.
Ron Killings wants Cena but instead gets a Black Mass
Killings had his sights set on obtaining a rematch with the WWE Champion after being on the losing end at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He would call out the Champ but instead would receive an answer from the man of darkness himself, Aleister Black who would take Killings out with a Black Mass.
