Aussies Abroad: IInspiration returns and Ripley’s ladder fall

Welcome back to another week’s instalment of Aussies Abroad, a feature where we take a look at the Australians making a name for themselves in rings across the world.
Let’s start this week’s coverage with the latest news from Adelaide’s very own Rhea Ripley, who put up one hell of a fight at this year’s Money In The Bank. This absolutely crazy match highlighted some of the best wrestling out there, with Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Giulia, Roxanne Perez, Stephanie Vaquer and Ripley all working incredibly well together in ring, despite our girl not being able to pick up the win. Things really heated up when Ripley was getting back to her feet and was close to setting up a ladder to leave more broken bodies in her path and climb up to the case. Everything was going well for Ripley until Vaquer came to intercept, and eventually got Ripley up onto a horizontal ladder and landed the nasty devil’s kiss onto the steel. Ripley was also the receiver of some insane looking counters, including a razor’s edge onto a ladder followed by a springboard moonsault into the steel.
Over in AEW, Aussie favourite Kyle Fletcher, alongside his Don Callis Family team and Hechicero, were able to defeat Bandido and The outrunners team in an epic matchup. Despite the ring full of muscle, Fletcher was still able to show off his Aussie moves, landing some impressive moves including a counter to Bandido and a brainbuster that secured the win for his team.
Over in Japan, Chris Vice has continued to make a name for himself internationally, with another successful ZERO1 match under his belt. Vice, along with Yuki Toki, was able to defeat Hide Kubota and Yoshikazu Yokoyama at the event in Tokyo.
Iconic Australian wrestling tag team The IInspiration with Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay have made their return to TNA AGainst All Odds last week following a three year absence. Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay crashed the Elegance Brand’s post-match celebration after they opened the show with a six-woman tag team victory over Xia Brookside, Harley Hudson, and Myla Grace. The IInspiration made a dramatic entrance, striking their signature pose before blindsiding Ash and Heather By Elegance with a surprise “discount double check” to leave a lasting statement.
– Till next week!
