TALKING POINTS

Ospreay’s run takes a SWERVE

Ospreay opened up the show saying that last week he wanted Swerve and Hangman to put aside their differences for the greater good. He said in the week that he had to think about it, he learnt something, and that was maybe Swerve is a problem and challenges him to a match for Summer Blockbuster which is the next 4-hour edition of AEW.

Omega / Okada are ALL IN

Their history is well documented, and the path of both men was always coming to this. This was the moment AEW fans waited for since the announcement of The Rainmaker inking his contract with the company. Coming face to face on the Dynamite section of Fyter Fest, Okada and Omega brawl with neither man being able to hit their respective finishers, but rather with a standoff with each man holding their championship. It would then be announced later in the evening that on July 12th in Texas, Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada would do battle one more time with both the AEW International & AEW Continental Championships on the line in a winner takes all match.

TayJay is back together

Over years on the shelf thanks to giving birth to her first child, Tay Melo has returned to AEW reuniting with her long-time buddy, Anna Jay. Tay had not been seen on AEW programming since 2023’s edition of Double or Nothing where the announcement was made that she was expecting with her husband Sammy Guevara. Melo had competed in Japan in early 2025 leading to rumors speculating her return to the AEW brand would be imminent.

Briscoe proves he is the workhorse of AEW

No matter what you think of Jon Moxley’s title run, this past week his match with Mark Briscoe is a standout and proves that Briscoe is definitely a workhorse in All Elite Wrestling. While we may never see him holding the ultimate gold, Briscoe holds the fans in his heart and his performances each and every time he steps into the ring have earned him those hearts.

Thekla unleashes her venom

The toxic spider, Thekla has only just arrived in the company and already her venom is spreading as she took out Lady Frost in her debut match and now Queen Aminata has set her sights on the Austrian.
