WWE Money In The Bank 2025- Top 5 Moments

Today saw WWE put on a major PLE, a staple of the annual calendar- Money In The Bank. While historically, pro wrestling fans have referred to the “Big 4 PPVs”- those being Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, Summerslam and Survivor Series- there’s been an argument in recent years for MITB to take that 4th spot, or at least make it a Big 5. With events like the stellar Money In The Bank 2011 being part of WWE history, this year certainly had a lot to live up to. Let’s have a look at the Top 5 Moments of Money In The Bank 2025.

#1- The Truth Will Set You Free
The first one was a no-brainer. As the minutes ticked down on the blockbuster tag team match between World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso, Cody Rhodes, Logan Paul, and WWE Champion John Cena, it was reasonable to think some shenanigans may have been afoot. Some eagle eyed viewers spotted The Rock’s mother at ringside- could we see a return from the Final Boss?
Oh, we would get a return, as a mysterious hooded figure hit the ring and started unloading furious punches on Cena! The crowd roared, as the assailant unveiled himself- it was R-Truth!
Truth, last seen on WWE programming at Saturday Night’s Main Event in a loss to John Cena, was thought to be done with the company. Truth took to Twitter to say that his contract was not being renewed, leading to an out-pouring of love and support from fans and co-workers alike. Over this past week, “We Want Truth” chants have echoed across WWE programming, seemingly leading to this shocking return. In the post-show press conference, Triple H would refer to this as part of the story, a notion that many people, including Sean Ross Sapp and Truth’s own son, disputed online.

In any event, it is great to have R-Truth remaining with the company- although, interestingly, may be going a slightly new direction, as a WWE Shop drop of a new t-shirt would refer to him by the name of Ron Killings! Stay tuned…
#2- The Future Is Money
On Smackdown, Paul Heyman referred to the group led by Seth Rollins, with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in tow, as the future. I feel like that would work well as an official stable name, but I digress. In a lengthy, epic, violent ladder match, Rollins would scale the ladder and claim the MITB briefcase for the second time.
So the immediate future of the company seems to run through the Architect, Seth Rollins. Just over a decade after cashing his first briefcase in the “Heist of the Century”, Rollins gets to run it back as a tenured veteran. There were other stories and other moments at play- more on that in a moment- but securing this briefcase means that Rollins and co. will remain a vital part of the WWE main event scene for some time to come.
#3- I Hate You, Solo!
SmackDown seemed to set this up heavily yesterday, with Solo Sikoa telling JC Mateo that Jacob Fatu is “all gas, and no brains”, suggesting that the US Champion is lacking in intelligence. While Solo expected Fatu to “fall in line”, Fatu overheard the conversation, in a scene reminiscent of Batista turning on Triple H 20 years ago.
When the action started breaking down during the men’s MITB match at the PLE, Jacob appeared to be a good soldier, superkicking his way to glory and clearing the path for Sikoa to win. As the former Tribal Chief gleefully climbed the ladder, he was grabbed by the ankle… by Fatu. The Samoan Werewolf exclaimed, “I hate you!” before dropping him with a superkick and costing him the briefcase. This officially turns the uber popular Jacob Fatu babyface- a very exciting prospect for the weeks and months to come. Yaddadamean?
#4- The Man Is The Champ
Title changes always help a show feel more important and newsworthy, and we got one when Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch tussled for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Valkyria- the inaugural IC Champion after defeating Dakota Kai in the finals of a tournament this past January- has shown an increased confidence and aggression in recent weeks on Raw, and it translated well to this PLE match. Becky, for her part, returned to action at WrestleMania like she had never missed a beat after 9 months away, and the result was a fiery contest here at Money In The Bank.
Becky is a heel these days, meaning that things couldn’t go down without some kind of shenanigans. True to form, Becky claimed the gold by pulling Lyra’s tights during a pinning attempt. Despite that, pre-match stipulations dictated that Lyra must raise Becky’s hand. While the former champ did so, Becky rubbed it in a little too much, insisting that Lyra raise her arm to all four sides of the ring, then demanded Lyra strap the belt around her waist. Valkyria complied- then dropped Lynch with a German Suplex, followed by the Nightwing! Something tells me this feud isn’t quite over…
#5- The Women Steal The Show
Although the above moments were entertaining, I think it would be fair to say that bell-to-bell, this was not the strongest WWE PLE of 2025. However, the action started in epic fashion with the stacked women’s Money In The Bank ladder match.
The match was a clear split of veterans- with Naomi, Alexa Bliss and Rhea Ripley- and main roster newcomers- Roxanne Perez, Giulia, and Stephanie Vaquer. Although, interestingly, this was Ripley’s first MITB match. All six ladies had their moments to shine, with the power of Rhea, the nasty streak of Naomi, the aggression of Alexa- who seemed in especially great form. Roxanne was innovative, including a dangerous looking springboard moonsault which was equal parts beautiful and terrifying. Giulia did a commendable job blending her strong style offense with the usage of ladders, and Stephanie Vaquer- hugely over in LA- was an excellent mix of all of the above. She’s gone viral for her Devil’s Kiss move- if you’ve seen it, it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out why- but she’s so much more than sex appeal.
As the women went through some spectacular sequences that wowed the crowd, the question inevitably turned to who will win and become Miss Money In The Bank. That question would be answered as Rhea Ripley and Alexa Bliss were sent crashing off a ladder, allowing a newly dark and reinvented Naomi to scale the rungs and claim the valuable briefcase in the best match of the night.

A man who loves his wrestling, MMA, and has been known to dabble in karaoke. Previously wrote for Snap Mayors Media and ran The Arena Media for several years. As many wrestling fans do, he often envisioned becoming a pro wrestling superstar, but having Cerebral Palsy makes that dream a tough one to attain. Did do a brief referee spot for Rock N Roll Wrestling and he’d love to do more non-wrestler roles if laying the Smackdown is out of his reach, but until then, he’ll be hitting you with some refreshing writing like an F5!
