WrestleHer May Update: Brimming with Action and Unforgettable Moments
(Photos: New Photography and Compass_MC)
May was bursting at the seams with action—I genuinely needed an extra week just to catch up on everything! From heated rivalries reaching new heights to the rise of fresh bad attitudes, the month highlighted a dynamic mix of seasoned talent and hungry newcomers eager to prove themselves. Whether it was emerging stars staking their claim, veterans holding their ground, or factions showing signs of strain. Let’s take a look at some of the action that has happened over the month of May.
Tasmanian Championship Wrestling (TCW) New Dawn May 3rd
Allie Galvin vs Ari Nicole
Fresh from the mainland, Ari Nicole brought her fast-paced, hard-hitting style to the ring in an intense showdown against Allie Galvin. Right from the opening bell, Nicole showcased her strength and agility, overwhelming Galvin with a flurry of swift kicks and powerful offence. Though Galvin fought hard to turn the tide, she struggled to maintain control against Nicole’s relentless pace. In the end, Nicole sealed the win, leaving Galvin dazed and visibly frustrated. As Galvin prepares to challenge her former best friend Aaron Lynch for the TCW Championship at Joker’s Wild on June 21st, it’ll be interesting to see where this darker, more desperate side of her leads.
Riot City Wrestling (RCW) Mean Street Mayhem May 3rd
The women of RCW were on a mission amongst the men to carve out their place amidst the chaos of faction tensions and personal rivalries where
storylines focussed on betrayal and power struggles.
Hayley Hendrix & Aaron Onley vs Havok & Miki Fortune (Kings of Ruin)
Miki Fortune’s attitude shift was definitely shining through with a brutal showing against the fresh Hayley Hendrix at Mean Street Mayhem #59. Despite Hendrix’s best efforts—including a flurry of chops that bounced off Miki, to high flying athletic tactics to both Fortune and Havok, it wasnt enough for Hendrix and Onley to get the upper hand. Miki resorted to a sneaky eye gouge followed by a roll-up on Hendrix, securing a controversial win. This annoyed Zak Sabbath, who confronted her in-ring, only to be brushed off as Miki launched into a near-unprovoked assault on the much smaller Hendrix. Havok also lost his temper with Fortune and stormed out, signaling rising tensions within KOR. The fallout would set the stage for Fortune’s clash with Havok at Key to the City on May 31st, as the Kings of Ruin appear to be imploding from within.
Old Guard (Grimm, Mr. Cliff & Violet Blitz) vs Red Smash, Kaitoa and Rocco Reid
Adding to faction infighting, Violet Blitz continued her reign in the Old Guard becoming the new favourite amongst the group, much to the disappointment of Mr Cliff. In a chaotic six-man tag match, Violet and Grimm took every opportunity to isolate and wear down Mr. Cliff, repeatedly tagging between themselves and refusing to let him into the match. Cliff would ultimately get pinned. The relentless berating from Violet sparked a fiery response from Cliff, who declared he could beat her in a match—escalating tensions within the group. Meanwhile, Grimm continues to pressure Cliff to walk away entirely from the Old Guard.
RCW Key to the City May 31st
Miki Fortune vs Havok
Both didn’t hold back in this match and delivered what felt like their entire brutal arsenal on each other. Miki was relentless at the end and the ref forced her to stop after she was determined to cause as much pain to her KOR partner as possible. Again Zak Sabbath jumped in, disappointed with Miki’s actions. Worth a watch once the show is released on Youtube.
Violet Blitz vs Mr. Cliff
Mr. Cliff entered the match with a clear determination to win, unleashing a series of hard-hitting moves on Violet Blitz. Despite the onslaught, Blitz held her own, and to add insult to injury would put on Cliff’s signature vest mid-match to mock him. Just as she seemed to be on the verge of defeat, a timely interference shifted the momentum. The turning point came when the turnbuckle pad was removed—whether by accident or design—and Blitz took full advantage, slamming Cliff into the exposed steel to score a controversial and opportunistic victory.
Wrestle Rampage Mayhem at the Factory May 24th
Miki Fortune and Zak Sabbath (KOR) vs Amber and Gorgeous Gothic Greg (Misery Loves Company)
Amber has been a favourite at Rampage and a dominant force, using her creepy charm and quick defence to her advantage, oftentimes frustrated by the loveable and goofy Greg, making it a fun tag team dynamic. Kings of Ruin displayed strong in-ring cohesion, working seamlessly together to control the pace of the match. The bout, held at the intimate Lion Arts Factory, delivered a chaotic and entertaining experience for fans, culminating in a wild finish. Miki superplexed Amber into the crowd, resulting in a double count-out and Misery Loves Company retained their titles. It was a fun and unpredictable match that showcased both intensity and spectacle.
Adelaide Championship Wrestling (ACW) – Behind Enemy Lines May 17th
Miki Fortune vs Leah Lovegrove
Fortune ambushed Lovegrove during her entrance, releasing a flurry of strikes to poor Lovegrove. Lovegrove’s fighting spirit shone through as the match unfolded with a back-and-forth rhythm, both competitors trading momentum. At one point, Leah managed to halt Fortune on the top rope and looked poised for a comeback, but Fortune cut her off with an eye rake, sending Lovegrove crashing from the second rope. Seizing the opportunity, Fortune sealed the victory with a brutal double stomp, leaving no doubt about her ruthless intentions.
Slam! #18 May 31st
Frankie B vs Rita Stone
Rita Stone has been building serious momentum lately, and for good reason. Her in-ring skills are sharp, polished, and commanding more attention with each match. Frankie B continued to shine in her role as the brash, bitchy popular girl, always bringing attitude and flair to the ring. This match was a perfect example of a well-balanced fight, allowing both competitors to showcase their strengths in a back-and-forth battle. Frankie B looked to close things out with an attempt at multiple powerbombs, but Stone had other plans—reversing an attempt and nailing a 450 splash to secure a hard-fought victory.
Maya Maddox vs Moshpit Bunny
This was a nice quick match where both went into this match hot with an exchange of moves to wear down the other. Inevitably the tough Maddox would get Bunny into a submission who would tap out.
MCW High Stakes May 17th
Aysha vs Eugenie with guest ref Erika Reid
The clash between size and strength versus experience was on full display as Eugenie continued her dominance in the wrestling scene with her no-nonsense, powerhouse style. Aysha fought valiantly, using her experience to try and deflect Eugenie’s relentless offense. However, the match took a dramatic turn when a mysterious man in a balaclava stormed the ring and attacked Aysha, weakening her and allowing Eugenie to capitalize with a devastating Samoa Drop. The tension didn’t end there—further drama unfolded as the same masked man later targeted Erika, adding another layer of intrigue to the growing feud between her and Eugenie.
PWA Road To The Rumble May 23rd
Jessica Troy vs Melissa Averillo
In this fast-paced matchup, Troy maintained the upper hand for most of the match, showcasing her seasoned prowess and impressive arsenal of in-ring tricks. Her experience gave her a clear edge against Averillo, a rising star who continues to develop her skills and presence. The bout ultimately highlighted the classic clash of experience versus size, offering a dynamic and engaging performance from both athletes.
International Wrestling Australia (IWA) Take No Prisoners May 24th
Rita Stone vs Caity Luxe
In this ‘State of Origin’ clash between NSW and Victoria, Caity kicked things off by stalling the match and teasing Stone. The crowd quickly got behind the action, chanting to spite a clearly frustrated Luxe, who would resort to some sneaky tactics to try and win. Despite being held in a smaller venue, the match delivered in both energy and execution – This is actually a quiet banger worth watching.

Apart from the matches that occurred, Southern Territory Wrestling announced their women’s division would now be referred to as ‘The Valkyries’. The promotion announced:
“In Norse mythology, Valkyries weren’t just warriors , they were forces of fate. Fierce, fearless, and unshakably loyal, they chose who rose, who fell, and who would be remembered. They didn’t wait for permission. They took their place on the battlefield. Our division is built in the same spirit. The Valkyries is more than a name. It’s a calling. It’s about toughness, resilience, and showing the world what happens when powerful women step into the fight without backing down. These athletes are skilled. They’re hungry. And they’re ready to lead STW into a new era.”
