Aussies Abroad: Hartwell dominates HOG & TNA, plus Storm, Kross, Ripley & Eagles

Welcome to this edition of Aussies Abroad, with plenty to unpack as our Aussies continue making waves across the international stage.
Beginning in Japan, Robbie Eagles continues to represent Australia on one of wrestling’s biggest global platforms, entering the prestigious Best of the Super Juniors 2025 tournament for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). As it currently stands at the time of writing, Robbie is currently 2-2 in wins and losses with 4 points.
Over in Sendai Girls’ Pro Wrestling, Lena Kross continues to showcase her powerhouse dominance, teaming with Sadie Gibbs in tag team action against Chihiro Hashimoto and Yuu. Despite the loss, Kross once again proved she belongs on the world stage — a trajectory that will only continue to rise, now that she is based in the United States and accepting worldwide bookings. Meanwhile, Xyon is making waves of his own in All Japan Pro Wrestling, competing in a six-person tag match.
Crossing the Pacific from Japan to North America, Indi Hartwell made a major impact with her in-ring debut for TNA Wrestling, defeating Kelsey Heather. Since her departure from WWE, Hartwell has wasted no time broadening her presence. She also appeared at House of Glory (HoG), where she secured a huge victory over international star Miyu Yamashita to become the new HoG Women’s Champion.
WWE’s Rhea Ripley has joined forces with WWE Women’s World Champion Iyo Sky in a bid to gain revenge on Giulia and Roxanne Perez, who have been causing issues for both women in recent weeks. All four tore the house down in a fiercely contested match, hitting hard and pushing each other to the absolute limit. In the end, Rhea was too much to handle — delivering a brutal headbutt to Giulia, followed by the Riptide for the pinfall.
AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm found herself tested in a 4-Way Eliminator against AZM, Skye Blue, and Mina Shirakawa. In a dramatic closing sequence, Storm and Shirakawa traded a series of lightning-quick roll-up attempts. Ultimately, Shirakawa got the better of Storm, handing the champion a rare defeat. This unexpected result now sets the stage for Toni Storm vs Mina Shirakawa, scheduled for AEW Double or Nothing later this month.
I’m Matty, a lifelong wrestling fan who first discovered the world of wrestling in 2006. It wasn’t until 2014 that I became immersed in Australian wrestling, which has since become a major passion of mine—a passion that has now evolved into showcasing Australian wrestlers through writing.
