What’s On This Weekend In Australian Wrestling – 14/05/25

QUEENSLAND

Pro Wrestling League is back at Kedron Wavell Services Club in Chermside this Saturday for the fallout of one of the darkest days in the history of our sport, Doomsday, PWL‘s first event with “The Devil’s Double” Jesse Daniels as the new owner:

Bobby Bishop & Mitch Ryder Run The Devil’s Gauntlet:

At The Purge: Cybernight, Bobby Bishop and Jesse Daniels went to war in an I Quit match that saw Jesse Daniels on the losing end and his time in PWL officially over. In the main event, Mitch Ryder defeated Robbie Eagles to gain control over PWL, a power that Ryder was prepared to give back to owner Mitch McCarthy. That was until Jesse Daniels crashed the end of the show, laying everyone out and signing the contract that was supposed to be signed by Mitch Ryder, effectively taking over PWL in one fell swoop.

In the aftermath, Bobby Bishop & Mitch Ryder formed an uneasy alliance with each other, an alliance that will be tested as Jesse Daniels makes them run the Devil’s Gauntlet this Saturday.

PWL Championship Match – Ricky Utomi (c) vs. Mick Moretti:

Two different eras collide, as Ricky Utomi will defend his PWL Championship against Australian wrestling veteran Mick Moretti.

Australian Openweight Championship Match – Craven (c) vs. Seth Tylors:

After shocking the world at Purge: Cybernight by winning the Australian Openweight Championship in the Purge Rumble match, Craven will make his first defense of the title against QWA‘s Seth Tylors.

PWL Championship Number One Contender’s Fatal Four Way Match – Thirteen vs. Jaxon Cross vs. Toa vs. Yeet Stevens:

Four of Queensland’s premiere heavyweights will collide, as Thirteen, Jaxon Cross, Toa and Yeet Stevens all compete for a shot at the PWL Championship

Zeke Andino vs. EC Diamond:

Two of Queensland wrestling mainstays will face off once again, with the Australian Openweight Championship in mind, as former champion EC Diamond takes on Zeke Andino, who was the runner up in the Purge Rumble.

Despite the event being shrouded in controversy and uncertainty towards the future, Doomsday still promises to be an amazing night of action.

Alpha Pro Wrestling caps off their weekend at the Pipeworks Market Saturday Night with APEX, featuring one of the most stacked card of the year, so far, for Alpha Pro:

Alpha Pro Heavyweight Championship Match – Cousin Ali (c) vs. Mike Kaos:

At All Or Nothing 2, Cousin Ali shocked the Alpha Pro faithful by successfully cashing in his number one contender’s contract, which he had just won the very same night, on Mike Kaos to become the new Alpha Pro Heavyweight champion, with a little help from the Crowe family. Given the unfair nature of how he lost the title, Kaos has been granted a chamionship rematch against Ali at APEX.

Pipeworks Market Championship Match – Nate Hunter (c) vs. Josh Redfield:

Despite Nate Hunter’s successful efforts to get out of defending his Pipeworks Market Championship at All Or Nothing 2, he has run into a completely new challenge in Josh Redfield who, after defeating the Hunter Clan with Inmate 211 granted him a title shot, Hunter can’t run away from.

Melbourne Openweight Championship Match – Adam Crowe (c) vs. Johnny Della Rocco

The Melbourne Openweight Championship will be subject to a family affair, as Adam Crowe defends the title against his uncle Johnny Della Rocco, who won a battle royal at All Or Nothing 2 for the opportunity to challenge for the championship.

Alpha Pro Tag Team Championships Match – The Oner Brothers (c) vs. Rocco Reid & Bob

The Oner Brothers have decided to put up their Alpha Pro Tag Team Championships in an open challenge at APEX, a challenge that was just recently answered by Riot City Wrestling‘s Rocco Reid & Bob.

Happy Kai & Miss Fortune vs. Slade Mercer & 2Krayzee:

After an injury to Miss Fortune took away the long awaited matchup between herself and Slade Mercer at All Or Nothing 2, Happy Kai steped in as her replacement to take on “The Mercenary”. Now, with Miss Fortune medically cleared, the Fortune/Mercer rivalry rolls on, as Kai & Fortune will team up to take on the team of Slade Mercer and fellow member of Protocol, 2Krayzee.

Jay Hunter vs. Inmate 211:

Thanks to his role in helping Josh Redfield secure a title shot against Nate Hunter, Inmate 211 has drawn the ire of Nate’s brother, Jay Hunter, who Inmate 211 will go one on one with at APEX.

APPEARING LIVE – Krackerjak:
In an effort to deal with the corruption that has unfolded in Alpha Pro at the hands of its commissioners, Krackerjak has been summoned to appear at APEX, where he will address Alpha Pro‘s higher ups.

APEX is sure to be yet another perfect ending to a weekend at the Pipeworks Market, don’t miss it.
