Top 5 Moments – WrestleMania 41 (Night 2)

WrestleMania 41 is all done and dusted and in the record books for another year. Let’s take a look back at Night 2’s top 5 moments.

1. His time is NOW!

It was always going to be a battle of the generations. After turning his back on the entire world at Elimination Chamber, John Cena has been on a cocky rant to show that he was always the standard bearer in WWE.

Cody ever since his return to the company has been towards the top of the mountain and last year at WrestleMania 40, he won his first WWE Championship by defeating Roman Reigns despite the odds being stacked against him.

Going with the basic black for his entrance and completely ignoring the fans on his way down the ramp, Cena was showing the attitude that he has been giving since his historic turn. Cody on the other hand got the whole hog with the colors of the American flag adorning almost every corner of the arena.

As the moment is upon us, Cena and Rhodes lock up in the ring of the grandest stage of them all and it looked as if we were going to get a war. Unfortunately, it was not the drawn-out war we expected, and the hero of the story did not come out on top.

In what can only be described as a mess of a main event, the ref took a bum only for Cena to utilize an exposed turnbuckle and then in what seemed to be a mistimed entrance from Travis Scott. While Scott would end up on the receiving end of a Cross-Rhodes from Cody, ultimately it fell flat and caused some extreme awkward moments in the match. It did leave Cena with the opportunity to grab the championship and attempt to nail Cody with it, only for Cody to take it out of his hands and threaten to hit Cena with it.

Cody’s decision to not use the belt to his advantage would cost him as Cena would kick him square in the nuts and secure himself a place in history as the 17-time World Heavyweight Champion.

2. Say his name!

Randy Orton came to WrestleMania this year without a match due to an injury taking out his scheduled opponent, Kevin Owens. For the past couple of weeks, Orton has been baiting Nick Aldis to have an opponent lined up for him at WrestleMania.

Orton made his entrance to the Showcase of the Immortals and waited patiently for the announcement of who he would be facing as the camera man made his way to the entrance. The crowd was silent when and then it happened. They said his name, and he appeared. TNA World Champion, Joe Hendry made his WrestleMania debut.

The match itself was a pretty quick one with Hendry succumbing to the RKO. After the match Randy would shake the hand of Hendry and get him to embrace the atmosphere of WrestleMania only to hit him with the RKO a second time.

3. Intercontinental Championship gets Dirty.

A fast paced and action-packed Intercontinental Championship match could have easily gone to anyone who was in the match. All 4 men had their right to claim the win and if you ask me, there could have been no wrong winner.

Bron Breaker continued to showcase how brutal his spear can be when he took out Carlito on the Spanish announce table while in the ring Balor and Penta were battling it out. Balor managed to hit his Coup de Grace on Breaker and looked like he was set to walk out as the new champion, that was until Dominik Mysterio decided he had other plans and would hit a splash on his stable mate and pick up the three count ringing in the Dirty Dom Era.

4. The MAN returns.

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships were on the line with Raquel and Liv putting their belts up against Lyra and her partner, The MAN, Becky Lynch. Returning to the company at the biggest stage, Lynch had been gone from WWE since June of 2024 when her contract expired and she chose not to renew at that time.

In a relatively quick match, Lynch and Lyra took it to Liv and Raquel with Lynch scoring the pinfall and securing her second run as a WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.

5. Sky is the limit.

The opening match of night 2 is always going to be a hard spot to be in, especially if night one delivers the goods. However, the women of WWE were up to the challenge in the triple threat for the Women’s World Championship.

Bianca, Rhea and Iyo did not disappoint by being the opener. They delivered what could easily be classed as one of the best women’s matches in WrestleMania history. The pacing of the match was spot on and gave as moment after moment of close calls. Bianca and Rhea were the powerhouses of the match with Iyo giving those quick and flying moments that just glued the match together.

Iyo would ultimately be the victor and securing her future as main star in the women’s division.
