Australian Suicide, better known in the Australian wrestling scene as Ryan Rollins, was a name that frequently came up in discussions about standout talents throughout his 22-year career. Beginning his journey in 2003 with Professional Championship Wrestling and New Age Wrestling, he quickly made an impact, wrestling for various promotions across the country.
Rollins played a key role in the early years of Melbourne City Wrestling (MCW), where he became an integral part of the promotion’s rise in the Australian wrestling landscape. His high-energy style and technical ability made him a fan favourite.
In 2012, he took a monumental step in his career, traveling to Canada to train under the legendary Lance Storm. Shortly after, he relocated to Mexico, where he competed for major promotions, most notably Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). His time in AAA saw him achieve significant success, including winning the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship and the Copa Triplemanía XXIV in 2016.
Among his most notable feuds in AAA was a heated rivalry with Daga, which culminated in a high-stakes match where Rollins suffered a loss, forcing him to unmask and reveal his identity as Australian Suicide.
Melbourne City Wrestling posted the following on facebook…
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Broderick and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.
We fondly remember his time in MCW and Australia, where he brought joy to every show with his infectious energy, unforgettable outfits and song choices. His willingness to entertain never failed to put a smile on our faces.
Ryan Rollins, “Ry-Ro,” was an integral part of MCW’s early years and was greatly missed when he moved to Mexico to further his career as Australian Suicide.
We will cherish the memories and moments he left behind and remember him every time “Bad Romance” plays
Rest In Peace
“It is with great sadness and shock that I say goodbye to my first love and best friend, Broderick Shepard. Only 3 days ago Broderick, Allan and myself were fantasying and talking about Brods coming home and how we would go fishing and stay at his Dad’s in Raymond Island.
What a shock.
Broderick was a shooting star literally and figuratively. He lived fast and lived the way he wanted every single day and gave his body to the ring. Allan and I had the honor of speaking with Brods every single day for last few months – he thought he was annoying me, but little did he know I needed him more than he needed me.
My life will never be the same without him, a friendship that was so honest, loving and real. I’ve never felt pain like this before. I could write a book about our time together Bug, but the words are stuck in my heart and its very painful.
Broderick Shepherd, my best friend, my soul mate, my bug. We love you. We’ve always loved you and the wrestling world will never forget you. From your Bug, Kelly.” – Kellyanne
“This one hurt . Another brother taken to early. Love ya man.” – Adam Brooks
“Words can’t even begin to describe how devastated I am by the loss of Broderick M. Shepherd. I was lucky enough to know him when he wrestled in Australia and I’m so grateful we stayed in touch after he moved. He was such a bright soul who brought so much love and joy to the people around him. He will be deeply missed. R.I.P my friend.” – Savannah Summers
“Brodz Rest easy pal. We stayed in contact every year, but the last time we met was in Korakuen Hall… tonight, I am back in there again and will be thinking of you a lot, little brother. 32 years old. Damn.” – Hartley Jackson
“Fly high, brother. You’ll never be forgotten.” – Damian Slater
“Very sad news to hear, Broderick had been living/working in Mexico for over a decade.
His early work in Melbourne as Ryan Rollins was highly entertaining and then he established himself in Mexico as the Luchadore Australian Suicide an amazing high flyer competing in promotions like AAA, TNA, AEW. & as a completely different character to Rollins showing his versatility.
Behind the curtain Broderick was a great friend to many helping international wrestlers acclimatise themselves in Mexico.
He will be sadly missed by family and friends worldwide. Rest In Peace.” – Todd Eastman/Wrestle Radio Australia

Whether you knew him as Australian Suicide, Ryan Rollins, BrOnO1 or just “Brods”, he was more than just a cutting edge and amazing performer in the ring, He was an ambassador for Australian Wrestling, a doting husband, amazing father, brother & son, and a loyal and supportive friend.
This one hurts so much because he touched so many lives so positively for so long, and was never far from peoples thoughts. He is loved, and will be missed by all who knew and cared for him.
Rest easy brother. We love you 🖤” – Deathmatch Downunder
“I still can’t believe this is real. Brods, you always made everyone around you smile.
Lifting the mood with constant jokes & you were always caring of others. Always helping anyone you could, and deserved all the success in the world.
A true trailblazer, to make it in Mexico as an Australian living there as a Professional Wrestler is astonishing. A testament to your talent and hard work.
Rest easy brother, we’ll all miss you. 💛” – JXT
“BATTLE CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING is deeply saddened by the passing of Australian Suicide Ryan Rollins (Broderick Shepherd).
Best known for his career in Mexico as a part of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide Rollins became a AAA Cruiserweight Champion and crossed over to Lucha Underground where he was given a prominent role as Hexagon Dark.
Rollins was also a part of our first ever show, BCW inauguration on 25 November 2016 where he faced off against Mike Burr in an outstanding contest.
It is noteworthy as to his character and it would be remiss of us not to mention Rollins’ generosity during the height of the pandemic where Rollins took his time to be interviewed (not once but twice by us) to assist with our content, providing interesting responses to some fun questions all in the name of supporting Australian Professional Wrestling.
A trailblazer for our country in his chosen profession, we extend our sincerest condolences to family, friends and fans across the globe.
R.I.P. 1992-2025.” – Battle Championship Wrestling
“Our deepest condolences go out to the friends and family of Broderick Shepherd, a dearly beloved member of the Australian wrestling community.
A gifted performer who went on to compete all over the world, whether he was competing as Ryan Rollins or Australian Suicida, we cherish the memories from watching him compete in Australia and beyond over the years.
Rest in peace.” – Renegades Of Wrestling
“I don’t want to write a lengthy post as I don’t want to clog everyone’s timelines. I unfortunately don’t have a proper photo with Broderick but was just made aware of this one in which I’m in the background of.
Despite his major successes, he was always so humble and checked in with me regularly to make sure that everything was going ok in my life.
He would help everyone as much as he could to make it easier for others, no matter what that may be.
Thank you for being a great friend.” – Bee Boy
“The world feels a little dimmer today with the loss of such a radiant spirit. Your memory will forever hold a special place in our hearts. May Brods gentle soul find eternal peace and rest.
The impact of your kindness and warmth will continue to inspire me for years to come, I always seen you as a little bother.
I will miss our chats and calls. We will all cherish the time we had and the joy they brought into our lives.
Thank you for being you, you were truly an inspiration. Love you Brods. See you in the next life. Xox.” – Vixsin
“Brods had the ability to annoy the shit out of me (his choice I’m sure), kill me with his fucking twisted humour and at the same time have that mischievous face that I just wanted to squish and protect and melt my heart talking about what he was passionate about, including his wife and daughter.
A lot of us see you as a little brother. You did things your way and I love you for it. At least I know I can’t think about you or talk about you without having a giant goofy smile. You knew how I felt about you. I have never heard a bad thing about you. You are one of the good ones. – Michelle K Hasluck
“We mourn the passing of Broderick M. Shepherd, better known as Australian Suicide.
We raise our prayers to heaven for his eternal rest and wish wish a speedy resignation for his family.“ – Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide

“Got a long line of heartache
I carry it well,
The list of lives I’ve broken
Reach from here to Hell..
And a bad luck wind been blowin’ on my back
Pray you don’t look at me
And I pray I don’t look back”
