Tuesday Morning RAW October 22nd
RAW: 22/10/2024
Channel: Foxtel WWE Channel/Kayo/Binge
As WWE continued to work towards Crown Jewel on November 3rd (AUS) RAW was able to put on a good show. This week features tag team tournament matches and a match announced for the PLE. It was a busy night for champions as well as Liv Morgan and Raquel would team against Damage CTRL and Jey Uso would defend his Intercontinental Championship against Bron Breakker.
Seth Rollins and Bronson Reed
Seth Rollins would kick off RAW by attacking Bronson Reed with a suitcase before walking to the ring. Seth would cut the music and tell Bronson to come to the ring if he wanted to become famous. Reed would fight through security and make his way towards Seth in the ring as Seth would dive at him. Bronson would recover and charge Seth into the corner as once again the two would have to fight through the many security cards trying to break them up. They’d eventually break free as Reed would Death Valley Drive Seth setting him up for a Tsunami. Seth would roll out of the way but would still be vulnerable, as Bronson would line him up on the table, and Reed looked for another tsunami. The security would get in the way of Reed, giving Seth enough time to get out of the way as Reed would go through the table. The security would finally separate them but the two would still brawl backstage throughout the night. Adam Pearce would get to them eventually and inform them that a match had been made official between them at Crown Jewel as Bronson warned Seth that this was the biggest mistake of his life.
Authors Of Pain VS New Day
In the second match of the tag team number 1 contender tournament the New Day would go up against the Authors of Pain (AOP). The match would get off to a normal start until The Miz would make his way ringside to align himself with The Final Testament. Miz’s presence would draw out R-Truth who took the opportunity to take the Miz out which would distract the AOP. Kofi Kington would take the opportunity to get a roll-up pin and win the match for the New Day. As Truth was left alone in the ring The Final Testament would attack Truth as Xavier Woods would hold back Kingston leaving Truth on his own. At this the lights would go out as the Wyatt Sicks would appear and take out The Final Testament. The Miz would find himself alone in the ring as Uncle Howdy would show up behind him as Paul Ellering would save him and take a Mandible Claw from Howdy. These two factions feel like they could create something great together especially with both factions having supernatural elements attached to them.
Damage CTRL VS Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez
Damage CTRL would come out strong in this match taking it to the Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and her partner Raquel Rodriguez. Their momentum would come to an unfortunate conclusion as Iyo Sky would get distracted by the Meta Girls outside the ring and Lash Legend would get involved causing a disqualification. The Meta Girls would make a statement and take out Damage CTRL getting the attention of Raqual and Liv until Rhea Ripley’s music hit. Rhea would take out Liv and Raquel until Dominic Mysterio attempted to make a save. Dominic would end up in the clutches of Rhea until Liv was able to return the favour and save Dom. A great segment that could be a teaser for a potential feud between Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez and Damage CTRL in the future.
Other Highlights:
- LWO defeated the Creed Brothers in the Tag Team tournament
- Priest tells Gunther he is going to earn the championship back
Jey Uso V Bron Breakker
The main event of RAW this week was for the Intercontinental Championship as Bron Breakker would get his rematch against Jey Uso. The match would start clean with Bron playing around with Jey until Solo Sikoa would show up with tickets for the Bloodline. Solo would try and tell Jey that he was there to help but Jey wouldn’t listen and attack Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. Solo would try and talk sense into Jey but would find himself on the wrong end of a Bron Breakker spear after trying to save Jey. This would lead to a face off between Jacob Fatu and Bron Breakker that the crowd went crazy for until Jey would break them up by diving into them. Jey would get Bron back into the ring hitting a spear and an Uso Splash which Bron was able to kick out of. At this security would come out and remove Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa which would also distract the ref. Solo and Jacob would take advantage of this as Jacob would Superkick and Samoan Drop Jey onto a table. Bron would finish the job with a Super Spear as Bron Breakker would become the new Intercontinental champion. An amazing main event which builds on the current Bloodline story and allows Bron Breakker to have a proper title run.
While there may have not been many matches in this week’s show RAW managed to make the most of the matches and segments they did have. Each match added so much to any storylines happening on RAW now with most matches featuring more then one feud. They managed to seal the show with a PLE worthy main event between Jey Uso and Bron Breakker in what was a concise but great show.
