Tuesday Morning RAW October 1
RAW: 2/10/2024
Channel: Foxtel WWE Channel/Kayo/Binge
The RAW before Bad Blood was the perfect build into the PLE as we see CM Punk and Drew McIntyre face off for the last time while Judgement Day and the Terror Twins continue to battle. The breakup between the New Day continues to get teased as Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman battle in the main event in a last monster-standing match.
Jey Uso’s celebration
The new Intercontinental Champion Jey Uso would kick off this week’s RAW as he celebrated his win last week. He would talk about how much he struggled to get here with everything that happened with the Bloodline. He would then go on to talk about his mother and how thankful he is for her. At this Bron Breakker would come out but surprisingly instead of challenging Jey for the title he would show respect to Jey as he was the better man last week.
Xavier Woods VS Rey Mysterio
After last week’s altercation between Xavier Woods and Rey Mysterio, the two would face each other in the ring. Xavier Woods would manage to get the win but in a controversial way as he would accidentally remove Rey’s masks and then capitalize to get a roll-up pin. Later in the night Xavier Woods’s partner Kofi Kingston would question if Woods removed the mask on purpose which Woods denied. Kofi would accept this answer and then let Woods know that he has a championship match against Jey Uso next week in a segment where Karrion Kross was lurking in the background. Kofi would then go on to face Chad Gable in a match where Xavier Woods would get involved and accidentally cost Kofi the match by saving Gable from a disaster kick. The breakup between the New Day seems inevitable at this point with it only being a matter of when.
Cm Punk and Drew McIntyre’s final face-off
Just days away from their Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood CM Punk and Drew McIntyre would meet face to face inside the ring. With a wall of security between them Drew McIntyre would start by explaining why he was dressed in all black. It wasn’t to show respect to Punk, but Drew was wearing all black out of respect to Punk’s wife as he would tell Punk that after this weekend Punk won’t be able to make another come back. Drew would then mention Roxanne Perez’s promo on NXT and how even she can see how bad of a person Punk is unlike everybody else. He’d finish by telling Punk that he has been taught how to hate by Punk and how he will use it as a weapon to destroy Punk and then he’ll never hate again. CM Punk would have his say and tell Drew that he is voiceless because of how much he hates Drew. He explained that he has had to live in a hotel away from his wife because of the person he has become and that he wants to send Drew back to Scotland in a box. He’d finish by telling Drew to remember that he prayed for this and when Punk takes everything away from him this weekend the only one, he’ll be praying to is CM Punk. With the end finally upon us in this feud the match at Hell in a Cell is guaranteed to be great.
The Judgement Day call out The Terror Twins
After defeating the LWO the Judgement Day would celebrate in the ring and move onto the terror Twins as Finn Balor would tell Damian Priest that at Bad Blood, he was going to prove he never needed Damian, but Damian needed him. Liv Morgan would then go on and brag about her revenge tour once more as Rhea Ripley would interrupt them. She’d bring the shark cage out with her and expose Dominic Mysterio as claustrophobic and laugh about Dom being stuck in the cage while she reclaims her Gold and beats Liv. Priest would then come out behind the Judgement Day and attack them while Rhea attacked Liv and Dom as she tried to shove Dom into the shark cage. Liv Morgan would make the save though as the Judgement Day would work together to overpower Priest inside the ring. With two massive matches on the weekend, this segment showed where the momentum is right now with things not looking great for the Terror Twins.
Gunther accepts Sami Zayn’s challenge
Gunther would come out in a good mood except for the fact that he must deal with the annoying Sami Zayn. Sami would use this as the opportunity to come out and annoy Gunther and tell him the best way to get rid of him was by giving him a title shot. They would talk about their WrestleMania match which Sami won and Gunther would say it was an embarrassment to both him and his family. Gunther would explain how disappointed his farther was in him and how Sami doesn’t understand that because his family are used to him losing. Sami would then bring up how Gunther ran away after his loss whereas Sami would always get back up after a loss. He would then go too far and tell Gunther that at least now Gunther’s Dad also knows that Gunther’s a coward which would lead to Sami Zayn getting beaten down by Gunther. Sami would finally get his wish met though as Gunther would accept Sami’s challenge for a championship match. While this should be a good match it is unlikely that Sami will be the one to dethrone Gunther especially with CM Punk and Bron Breakker all having their eyes on the title.
Other Highlights:
- Zoe Stark beats Lyra Valkyria with the help of Pure Fusion Collective as Kayden Carter and Katana Chance make their return to save Lyra.
- The Miz would betray R-Truth against the AOP as Karrion Kross watched on.
Last Monster Standing
The finale of the feud lived up to the hype as early on in the match Strowman would use the steel stairs to attack Bronson Reed and then put him through the announcers table. Strowman would continue to stay on top as soon after Bronson Reed would get knocked out of the ring on to a bunch of chairs that had been set up outside the ring. This would lead to the fight being taken down the ramp and into the production area where Reed would throw Strowman through a table. As they made their way back into the ring area Stroman would be sent into the timekeeper’s area taking down all the barricades as Reed would charge at Strowman again as the Barrier into the crowd would be taken down as multiple audience members were taken out. Reed would continue his path of destruction and drag Strowman back into the ring to finish him with a Tsunami but the referee was distracted by the audience outside the ring as he couldn’t make the count to ten. Reed would hit Strowman with one more Tsunami before fighting through security to get to the ref. This would bring Adam Pearce out and as Reed put his hand on him all the security would go after Reed. Strowman would use this opportunity to jump from the top rope onto the floor and take out Reed and all the security. Strowman and Reed would make their way back into the ring where Reed would Super Plex Strowman breaking the ring underneath them. Reed would look as though he would get up, but Seth Rollins would make his return and stomp Reed’s head on the steel chairs which allowed for Stroman to win the match.
It was a chaotic but great show that featured a lot of story progression and some top-quality matches. This show was perfect as a build into Bad Blood as the CM Punk and Drew McIntyre promo helped to build excitement around the match. Next week’s RAW is also looking to be another great show with Seamus and Pete Dunne battling each other in a good ol’fashioned Donnybrook match, Xavier Woods facing Jey Uso for the Intercontinental Championship and Sami Zayn challenging Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.
